Squash NL is seeking a motivated and energetic squash coach to lead our junior development initiatives and support the growth of squash in the province. This Squash NL coach will run 2 junior squash programs in CBS and St. John’s and actively coach junior squash participants each week, as well as be responsible for growing overall participation in both programs. In addition this Squash NL coaching position will also launch and run school squash programs with participating schools and transition players to junior squash programs where possible.
About Squash Newfoundland and Labrador:
Squash NL’s vision is to promote the game of squash while emphasizing the competitive and social elements of the game and protecting the integrity of the sport throughout the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 2 structured junior squash programs for different age/skill levels in CBS and St. John’s.
- Organize and coach school squash programs to introduce new players to the sport and recruit players to the junior squash programs.
- Actively promote squash to grow participation in each junior program.
- Provide a positive, inclusive, and fun environment for all players.
Qualifications:
- Squash Canada coaching certification
- Experience running and coaching junior squash & school squash programs
- Proven track record growing participation in junior squash programs
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Enthusiasm for working with youth and developing grassroots participation.
- Ability to independently manage time and tasks.
Position Details:
- Part-time/contract role (hours to be determined).
- Compensation based on experience.
- Use of private vehicle or transportation is a requirement for this position.
- Must be available for school squash programming during the school day.
